We are a successful small business run by two siblings, employing 12 staff, providing total aftersales services (maintenance, repairs & training) of vehicle-mounted hydraulic equipment; due to business expansion we require additional engineers.
We specialise in Truck mounted hydraulic equipment. All makes of 'Hiab'-type lorry loaders, Moffett forklifts, Recovery body’s, Roll on off and skip gear, and relevant ancillaries and attachments.
The company's customer base is located primarily in Herts, Beds, Bucks, Northants and Greater London, but we also service customers in Kent, Sussex and Surrey.
Purpose:
Reporting to the Service Manager you will be responsible for the effective and efficient service, maintenance and repair of lorry loader cranes and other equipment at workshop based in Luton, Bedfordshire.

Job Specification/Description:
The Hydraulics Engineer / Fitter will be required to carry out scheduled maintenance, safety inspections and repairs of customer vehicles at the company's premises located in Luton.
Candidate would need a good understanding of hydraulic circuits and systems, electrics and pneumatics.
This vacancy would suit a candidate with forklift, access or plant machinery maintenance experience.
Candidate will be expected to work from both verbal and written instruction.
Product specific training will be provided during daily tasks.
Key responsibilities:
Carry out annual LOLER inspections, servicing and repairs to ALLMI standards and within industry prescribed times
Work closely with Service Control and the Service Manager to ensure jobs are carried out on time, customers are kept updated and paperwork completed, in line with company procedures
To follow and promote best practice at all times and work to ‘right-first-time’ standards of workmanship to minimise repeat repairs and vehicle down-time
To provide cost effective use of resources, materials and equipment and identify cost saving initiatives to deliver value for money to customers
Apply customer care skills at all times to ensure customer expectations are met, including keeping the customer and Service Control regularly informed of progress
Ensure van parts stocks are maintained and that vehicle axle weights are not exceeded
In liaison with Parts Departments, ensure all parts returns are documented and returned in a timely manner in accordance with agreed company procedure
Maintain a clean working environment, taking responsibility for personal housekeeping and ensuring all tools and equipment are returned to the correct location
Ensure that Health and Safety procedures are adhered to in accordance with company requirements and current legislation
Wear appropriate PPE at all times and take responsibility for your personal safety and the safety of others around you
Other duties:
To keep abreast of industry developments and provide technical advice and guidance to colleagues and customers
To carry out any duties deemed reasonable over and above standard duties
To make recommendations to enhance customer service delivery and the effective use of resources, tools and equipment
To assist in the development of new service offerings and identify new after-sales opportunities
